PTFE (Teflon®) Polytetrafluoroethylene

PTFE has the highest operating temperature of all Fluoropolymers, and has excellent chemical resistance.  PTFE has the lowest Coefficient of Friction of all plastics, and exhibits very good Dielectric properties.  Its high ductility makes PTFE a great option for sealing applications.

PTFE is not melt processable, and must be produced using Compression Molding, Ram Extrusion, or Skiving methods.  It can be easily compounded with a variety of fillers to enhance its performance characteristics.

What are the benefits of PTFE?
  • Unmatched Chemical Resistance
  • Toughness
  • High Temperature Range
  • Good performance in Steam
  • Good Wear Resistance
  • High Dielectric Strength
